White-throated Sparrow

Frame clipped from video Panasonic GS-15 (April 12, 2005) - Fine Arts

White-throated Sparrow - April 26, 2004, I saw a pair of these in the short trees behind BSB. The stripes on the head caught my eye and then I noticed the distinctive white patch on the chin. One was singing.

On October 22, 2004, I also was able to get some long range photos of this sparrow.  These were seen in the bushes near the picnic tables in the quad area.

On October 29, 2004, one of these was spotted in front of the Fine Arts building.  It was under the "weeping" tree on the south side of the breezeway.  The Ovenbird was in the same area.

On February 18, 2005, a pair of these were on the north side of the quad area.  It was late Friday afternoon.  It was cold, windy and overcast.

I have seen a baby of this by the picnic tables.

On Tuesday afternoon October 18, 2005, I came across a group of White-throated Sparrows near the Fine Arts building.  I have not seen these birds for a while so I'm guessing they are moving in for the winter.  They were very elusive like they were not used to people being around.

On March 24, 2006, I found a couple of these foraging in front of Fine Arts.

During the first week of May 2006, these birds are common all over campus.
